Eco-Friendly Playground Equipment

Eco-friendly playground equipment and furnishings are readily available nowadays. Not only do manufacturers adopt environmentally friendly processes and use recycled materials to make playground products, they often involve children in the process, helping to educate them about the environment and sustainability.

Premier Park & Play strongly supports these manufacturers. We provide eco-friendly playground equipment and construct environmentally-friendly playgrounds for schools, parks and other facilities. For example, we provide play equipment from Play Mart, a manufacturer who recycles milk jugs into a plastic material that is used to make playground equipment.

Play structures built with this recycled plastic do not rust, rot or splinter like wood, chip or flake like painted posts and boards, and are graffiti resistant. Unlike metal playgrounds, the color is highly UV and fade resistant. And the products are guaranteed to last decades! In their manufacturing process, Play Mart also strives to use the least amount of energy, water, labor, and make the most efficient reuse of industrial and consumer waste for their product inputs. They have also implemented a Take Back Program that recycles the plastic again once equipment needs to be replaced.

Another brand we offer, Superior Recreational Products, also has a strong focus on environmental sustainability. Their recycled playgrounds are approximately 95% recycled, including recycled post-consumer plastic products, metal and lumber. In order to create minimal manufacturing waste, the manufacturer has also implemented many energy-reducing techniques such as using high efficiency light bulbs and reducing natural gas usage.

Environmentally-friendly Playground Surfacing

Premier Park & Play offers rubber mulch as an option for playground surfacing. Our supplier, Rubberecycle, is a pioneer in recycling tires into rubber mulch and other products. Rubber mulch provides the most shock absorption and meets the latest CPSC safety guidelines, ASTM F-1951 and F-1292. It comes in many colors and is guaranteed to last a life time.
